Hidden Hills

Hidden Hills was developed in the 1950s as a gated residential community in the western edge of San Fernando Valley. Today, it is an independent city of around 1,900 residents, and has recently gained tremendous mileage as the residential choice of many top celebrities.

This small city is governed by the local government and the Hidden Hills Community Association, which sees to it that the community’s exclusivity and rustic character are kept intact. The association maintains the city’s common areas, including 25 miles of bridle trails, six miles of roads, a 99-seat theater, four tennis courts, a community pool, and a recreation center.

The association also reviews residents’ architectural plans to ensure compliance to strict homebuilding and design standards. There are a total of 658 home sites in the enclave, each with an expansive lot size of at least one acre. Among the homebuilding rules here is to set aside 600 square feet for a stable, assuring the preservation of the neighborhood’s equestrian tradition .
